AURORA, CO—Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff today announced endorsements from more than 250 state and local leaders, including current and former legislators, county commissioners, mayors, city councilors, and school board members. The endorsements demonstrate Romanoff’s deep support throughout Colorado and deliver powerful momentum to his bid for the Democratic nomination.

Romanoff, who served as the speaker of the Colorado House and as the president and CEO of Mental Health Colorado, said he was grateful for the outpouring of support.

“This is what a grassroots campaign looks like,” Romanoff said. “Thousands of Coloradans are joining our call to repair our democracy and restore the American Dream.”

“Andrew is a true leader in our state,” said former Congressman John Salazar. “A common-sense problem solver, Andrew knows how to deliver results. He’s always stood up for Colorado’s farmers, and he knows how important agriculture is to our state’s economy. I’ve seen firsthand Andrew’s success expanding economic opportunity in Colorado’s agriculture sector and his fierce commitment to the people of Colorado. It’s clear that Andrew is the best candidate to take on Cory Gardner.”

“I’ve known Andrew Romanoff for longer than I can remember,” said former State Senator Abel Tapia. “When he was Speaker, we did so many great things for the state of Colorado and particularly in Southern Colorado. He’s the perfect person to represent us in Congress.”

“Throughout his career, Andrew Romanoff has always stood up for the communities in Southern Colorado,” said Pueblo County Sheriff Kirk Taylor.  “From investing in our public schools to ensuring that mental health services are available to all who need them, Andrew understands what is needed to keep people out of the criminal justice system while never losing sight of public safety concerns.  I know he will always support federal programs that assist local law enforcement, and he will bring extraordinary leadership to the Senate.”
